A Message from Mrs. RobertsGo To Top of Page

Welcome to a new year at Scotten School. I want to give a special welcome to our new families who have joined us this year.  We had some staff members leave us last year for new adventures and we were very fortunate to hire several talented and experienced new teachers and instructional aides this year who will add to our caring and knowledgeable staff. In these past few weeks I have seen for myself that Scotten Elementary is truly an amazing school.  The educators provide a strong, rewarding, and well-rounded program for every child.

Building a strong and welcoming school community is one of my goals for the year. I encourage you to become involved at Scotten through volunteering in the classroom, participating in the Parent Teacher Club (PTC), and attending our Site Council Meetings. Research shows that parent participation greatly increases student achievement. Together as a team, parents and school staff, we can help each child reach his or her highest potential.  Scotten will continue to have school Sings on the first Friday morning of the month from 9:20 am to 10:00 am. We have also started a new tradition at Scotten in the morning from 8:55-9:00. We all walk for these five minutes before school visiting with our friends and teachers. It is a great way to help kids relax and prepare for the school day. Please join us if your schedule allows.

I have had the opportunity to meet so many families already and I look forward to getting to know all of you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the office at (530) 273-6472 or stop in, as I am happy to meet with you if I am available. My favorite activity during the day is to visit classrooms and see the excited and curious children at work and play. The office staff and I will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Again, I look forward to working with your children this year. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself when you see me in the morning before school as I greet students or in the afternoons as I help at pick-up time. Being the principal of Scotten School is truly an honor and responsibility and I know that by working together we can make it a great school year for your children.

 Sincerely,

Carrie Roberts
